5 Modern Bathroom Ideas

Having a new bathroom fitted can be exciting but one quick search of ‘bathroom design inspiration’ can be overwhelming. With so many designs and colours to choose from it can be easy to get confused with all the options out there.

As professional bathroom fitters covering London and South East England, we work on a lot of projects and varied designs. Here are five tips on how to create a modern bathroom that won’t go out of trend.

Go monochrome

Your eyes may wander to the brightest colour palettes but if you are looking for a long-term design that won’t go out of trend, sticking to a monochrome palette is always a good idea. Keep the colour neutral and you can always add a pop of colour to make it more eye catching.

Wet room feature

As far as modern bathroom ideas go, having a wet room is one of the most desirable. With a seamless simple design, it’s perfect for both small and bigger spaces. Not only does it look great, it’s also practical with step-free access and easy to clean. It’s also widely available which means there are plenty of designs to choose from to create your dream bathroom!

Large format tiles

Small tiles are a thing of the past. While they work nicely for some designs, the invention of good quality large format tiles has taken over. You might ask, what’s so great about them? The first benefit is that they visually expand a space and give the illusion that it’s much bigger. Large format tiles also require fewer grout lines and therefore gives a much cleaner, uninterrupted look with less maintenance work.

However, fitting these tiles require a much more advanced skillset. At Style Design and Build, we’ve incorporated them in our projects from the offset so you can assure we’ll handle them care and give you a beautiful finish.

Double basins

What’s better than one practical bathroom basin? Having a twinset. While this has historically been common in hotels, people are incorporating them much more in their homes and we’re here for it! We recommend opting for a wall hung design for a clean and more spacious finish.

Vertical panel radiators

This one is a small detail but one that can transform your bathroom. Adding a vertical panel radiator can create a contemporary finish to your design. We recommend going for a darker colour like a charcoal grey or black to make it really standout. While this may not be practical (say goodbye to hanging your towels) it’s a much efficient way to warm up your bathroom.
